What They Found At The Bottom Of The Ocean In France Is Extremely Unsettling

If you’re trying to hide something, you should consider throwing it into the ocean. Even though it’s not the safest place, the odds of it being found down there are relatively slim.

That being said, having a slim chance of happening is a far cry from having no chance at all. Just ask the man who made this bizarre discovery in France three years ago.

In 2013, a sea urchin diver exploring a coastal path near Cap d’Antibes in France made a startling discovery. He found a human skull emblazoned with a target and the words “death to pedophiles.”

Cap d’Antibes is a vacation destination in France. The rugged coastline is dotted with homes belonging to wealthy locals, which makes this case even more disturbing.

After the police were alerted, officers searched the area and brought several more bones to the surface. DNA tests confirmed that they belonged to missing persons who had been gone for upwards of 20 years.

But they were at a loss to explain the skull. Officers were only able to determine that it belonged to a 50-year-old man. Efforts to link it to known pedophiles in the area were unsuccessful.

The only explanation that police were able to come up with was that they had somehow stumbled upon the underwater graveyard of a serial killer.

In the years since this insane discovery, investigators have had no new breaks in the case. It remains unsolved to this day.
